Mars Whisky Tsunuki 2025 Edition Single Malt Whisky 700mL

Mars Whisky Tsunuki 2025 Edition is a signature single malt from the Mars Tsunuki Distillery, situated in Kagoshima, Japan. This limited-release whisky features a thoughtful vatting of malt matured mainly in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, reflecting Tsunuki’s distinctive terroir: a basin-like geography with large temperature variations and pristine spring water from Mt. Kurata. 

 

With 49% ABV and a 700 mL presentation, the 2025 Edition is crafted to highlight Mars’s evolving spirit profile.  Subtly peated (around 5-6 ppm) and non-chill filtered, it balances richness, fruitiness, and layered oak complexity. 

 

 

Tasting Notes

Nose (Aroma):

• Sweet citrus like kumquat or imoyokan  
• Match (a green, slightly herbal note)  
• Corn and apple compote when water is added  

Palate (Taste):

• Honeyed malt base  
• Yellow peach and pineapple sweetness  
• Citrus candy — bright and light acidity  

 

Finish (Aftertaste):

• Soft oak-derived sweetness  
• Refreshing citrus acidity lingers, giving a clean, balanced finish
