Mezcalero Fernando Santibañez already made one of Oaxaca's most beloved mezcals with the classic Xicaru Silver. The 102 is his tribute to the old masters — the generation of mezcaleros who prized high-proof expressions for their concentrated, uncompromising character.
Same grandmother's recipe. Same small-batch palenque in Santiago Matatlán. Same 100% Espadín agave, pit-roasted over native mesquite and ocote wood, tahona crushed, wild yeast fermented in open pine vats, and double distilled in copper pot stills. But bottled at 51% ABV — raw, uncut, and unapologetically expressive.
At 102 proof, everything is amplified. The roasted agave is bolder, the smoke more present, the minerality sharper. A rush of cooked agave and citrus zest on the nose, with earthy depth underneath.
